Where are you located right now?
Bloomington, IN
What was your career?
Public school elementary teacher (25 years). Final 15 years were at Eastern Greene Elementary School in Bloomfield, IN.
How do you think you help people?
I am very personable. People feel safe talking to me because I truly listen to them and care about them as individuals.
What makes your strategies different from other firms?
We treat our clients as extended members of our Wellington family.
How do you approach client relationships?
Everyone is a unique individual with a story. It’s important to me that each person know they matter. If I am on the phone with a client or he/she is in my presence, they are the only person that matters at that time.
How does it feel to work here?
I honestly love coming to work every day. The financial world is very different from the world of education in many ways. However, the one similarity is connections with people. Regardless of age or background, we all have the basic needs of feeling important, valued and like we matter. I’m incredibly blessed that I have the opportunity to connect on a personal level with our clients. I’m grateful for our Wellington advisors. Their personalities and their investment strategies are very different from each other, but, again, their common focus is their clients. They know their clients as individuals. They have relationships, not just client/advisor business dealings. Our Operations/Compliance Manager, Emily Bray, is amazing in more ways than can be listed. I have learned so much from her. She is quite the leader.
What is your number 1 goals for clients?
I want the clients to know that they are our priority at Wellington. If there is a project in process and they call in or an advisor has a request from a client, the project is put on hold. The needs of the client come first.
What is your number 1 goal in your work?
As Operations Administrator, my goal is to continue to learn all I can about the industry so I can be of increased value to our team and our clients.
Would you like to add anything else?
I think it’s important to note that on many occasions clients have shared with us that they trust us completely. The ability to trust is another basic human need and to know that the people who are responsible for your retirement are trustworthy and have your best interests at heart is huge.
